Mahabaleshwar located at a height of 1353 m above sea level. This book can serve as a field-guide for nature lovers and conservationists, as also, a travel-guide for the occasional visitor. Additionally, it is also a valuable record of history that could so easily be forgotten if not documented so wonderfully by the authors. Its ancient history, culture, spectacular views, the flora and fauna and nature trails make it attractive for visitors, but this book gives a much deeper insight into what really matters – preservation of this beloved hill-station.
